The Hack Driver Author, Harry Lewis

Harry Lewis was born on February 7, 1885, and died on January 10, 1951. He was an American novelist, story writer, and playwright. The article focuses on the hack driver summary. The author of the story was an American novelist Lewis. This is often an amusing tale of a few young lawyers who are extremely innocent. He decided to go to a village to serve to summon an individual called Oliver Lutkins. At the railroad station, he meets an individual who introduced himself as Bill. Bill said that he was familiar with everyone within the village and promises to look Lutkins for the lawyer. He takes the lawyer and visits many places and takes tons of cash from him. But after an extended search, they might not find Lutkins. The next day, when the lawyer goes to the village with one among his colleagues, he came to understand that the hack driver was Lutkins. Everyone, except the lawyer, was laughing at him, and he felt ashamed of himself.

The story is about a lawyer who after completing his degree started working with a famous firm in the city. As an assistant clerk, he joined his duty there. He didn't just like the job of serving summons because sometimes he had to face unexpected situations. He had to offer the summons to Oliver Lutkins who was the main witness in some cases. He lived in a small village in New Mullion. He was happy to travel to the village but the village looked very dull and lifeless. He inquired him about Lutkins and came to understand he was a shrewd man and had taken a loan from many of us. The hack driver cunningly extracted from a lawyer that he has come here to offer court summon to Lutkin. The lawyer decided to rent Bill’s hack and look for Lutkins. The lawyer was manipulated by Bill and made him visit different places in search of Lutkins. He always wanted to go ahead and inquires about Lutkins. They visited Fritz’s shop to catch Lutkins where he plays poker. they need to be told that he has gone to Gustaff barber for shaving. Later at Gustaff’s place also they might not meet him and somebody told them they saw him within the pool room. they might not find him there and told him he left the poolroom after buying cigarettes. In the Afternoon Bill asked the lawyer to shop for food from his wife because it would be less expensive than a restaurant. that they had their lunch at Wade’s hill which may be a beautiful place. By now the lawyer was fully convinced that Bill may be a generous and helpful person. He even started comparing city people and villagers. Later they visited Lutkins mother’s house but she was a horrible lady and she or he was on the brink of attacking them with a hot iron rod. At last, the lawyer has got to leave without serving to summon Lutkins. He was badly scolded by his Chief subsequent day and was sent again to New Mullion with a colleague who knew Lutkins. After reaching the station Lawyer cheerfully acknowledged that Bill is a helpful man in searching for Lutkins. At now, he was told by his colleague that the hack driver was none aside from Oliver Lutkins. The lawyer felt ashamed of himself.
