1. Planning the test: The question paper should have general and specific objectives. It should ensure that the test items should include testing the knowledge, understanding, application, skill of students on a particular lesson. The division of marks and distribution of marks should be appropriate against the question. The whole items should be syllabus Concerned.
2. Items Writing: The writing of good items has been formulated on the basis of experiences in preparing items and empirical evaluations of responses. The items should be valid, appropriate, and unambiguous. The language should be written as clearly and simply as possible.
3. Different types of items: The different types of items should be included such as multiple-choice items, true/false, objectives type, short -type, long, or essay type.
4. Selection of type items: The type items should be selected and adjusted that which items should be given or suitable to a particular class.
5. Standardization: At this stage, it can be considered that the test is a collection of good items and it must be standardized. It is through standardization that t can control errors of the test. The time limit should be adequate in order to fulfill the purpose of the test.
6. Manuals and keys: This is the last step of the test construction and standardization in this step all the information or instruction about the test are written In detail. A test must be valid, for it should fulfill the purpose of the test.
Thus, the process of the test paper or question paper construction is to be completed through the above-mentioned steps.
